Where should Digital Nomads relocate in 2024

 

Gone are the days when working and traveling simultaneously is something that will happen on the twelfth of never; well at least for most people, it was the case. Then in recent years, technologies have become so sophisticated, it opened business opportunities that didn't require a physical office. Thus the rise of the digital nomads, or the people who can work remotely in any parts of the world so long as there is an Internet connection.

And this industry doesn't show a sign of slowing down anytime soon. If you are a digital nomad in search of a new place to move in, or if you are a new blood, wondering where to jumpstart your digital nomad career here's a list of cities and countries where you could relocate in 2024.

Bangkok, Thailand



With a 4.9/5 score from nomadlist.com, Bangkok has been a top choice for digital nomads. The place has a reliable Internet speed of 40 Mbps and free city Wi-Fi. It is generally deemed friendly to foreigners, has a great nightlife, and good tropical weather all year long. Moreover, Bangkok's low cost of living ($804 per month), a good number of coworking spaces, and hotel rates that could go as low as $5 per day make the city conducive to a digital nomadic lifestyle.

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia 

You want to work near the beach, then Ubud might just be the place for you. Located in Bali, Indonesia, Ubud runs second after Bangkok for being a digital nomad favorite. Although the Internet connection is not as good in Bangkok with only 5mbps, Ubud's natural beauty have enticed many digital nomads to relocate in this part of Indonesia. Cost of living for the locals in Ubud is fairly low at $577 a month. If you have a budget, you can live in a villa for about $1,500. Nomads can live in this province at an estimate of $1,050 a month.

Barcelona, Spain

With clear skies, short winters, and warm summers, Barcelona, Spain is for the digital nomads with Mediterranean's dreams. With a fairly fast Internet speed of 26mbps, beaches that are just a short train ride away, delectable Catalan cuisine, and numerous cultural events held regularly, Barcelona has been attracting nomads who want a vibrant but chillax lifestyle. Cost of living for nomads here are estimated to $2,120 per month.

Canggu, Bali, Indonesia

Canggu, another Bali's gem, is a coastal village known for its amazing beaches, surf breaks, and rice terraces. Unlike Ubud, Internet speed here is faster at 15mpbs. Cafes in this area are digital-nomad friendly offering free Internet use, some of them are even open 24/7. Because of the surfing culture, you will find surfer shack style spots and restaurants offering healthy food choices.

Miami, Florida, USA

Scoring high on the great quality of life, fun, weather, walkability, gay friendly, traffic safety, and startup score meters, Miami, Florida is among the best destinations recommended to more financially abled digital nomads. The impressive palm-fringed coastline, a good number of coworking spaces, and 14mbps of Internet speed, Miami is a paradise for locals and tourists alike. The cost of living, however, is on a steep side with an estimate of $6,777 per month for nomads.

Singapore

With an impressive Internet speed of 108mbps, digital nomads are assured of a reliable and fast Internet connection in Singapore. The small country also ranks high in quality of life, walkability, city Wi-Fi, air quality, English speaking, and racial tolerance categories. But just like Tel Aviv, the cost of living in Singapore is on the steep side with an estimated spend of over $4,091 per month for nomads.
